How it will work

We will be using Zoom to deliver a programme of arts events, experiences and workshops to you at home.  You will need to book for some events and others will be accessible to all without booking. Please be aware that it will be first come first served with certain events to maintain the quality of the experience.  We will be in touch with more information about individual experiences and how to access the festival via Zoom through your email.  Take a look at our programme and book onto events by clicking below.

Interactive drama

Join actors from Flute Theatre company as you explore the Shakespeare play Pericles through drama games and song. This is a individual or very small group experience and is being run across several slots throughout the festival. Particularly suited to school site and SLD students. Highly recommended!

WilderNests -                           Puppetry and song from Handmade Theatre Company

HandMade Theatre would like to invite you to join them for a wild adventure inspired by the natural environment around us. We will be seeking out the wildlife in our gardens, parks and woodlands. Think about the animals we might see including squirrels, foxes, birds and insects, or the plants, from the tallest tree to a tiny flower. There will be stories, songs, music, puppets and activities to get involved with. So get your wellies on and come explore the wild!

Andrew self is a dancer with down syndrome who appeared on BBC's The Greatest Dancer. He's a self-proclaimed "Captain of Dance", can do the splits and leaves audiences captivated. He will be performing for you and answering any questions you have about his experience as a dancer.

Multi-instrumental musician

Autistic performer, R.Dyer will be doing an exclusive set from her studio using everything from coloured pencils, sensory toys and a musical saw to create her unique blend of improvised baroque pop. She'll also be talking about how her own diagnosis of Asperger's has influenced her music, and encouraging the audience to choose what instrument she plays next!

Cyber Prom -

Dance party for students of Woodlands Meed school and college

Join us for the grand finale of Off The Beat Festival and the best digital dance party you will ever attend! Dress in your finest or wear your most ridiculous onesie and enjoy a unique party experience with your friends at Woodlands Meed. As well as an awesome DJ there will be a special video featuring messages from our college leavers and Adam, our head, will deliver a closing speech.
